CENTA, a non-profit research institution located in Andalucía (southern Spain), currently plays a major role in promoting better management of water resources. With more than 25 years’ experience in the field of wastewater treatment for small communities and rural/decentralized areas, CENTA has become an indisputable reference point in this field at international level. It participates in several actions under different funding Programmes (H2020, LIFE, FP7, INTERREG, etc.). It manages a 4 ha-experimental plant, consisting of a large technology pool containing the most sophisticated systems together with the most natural ones. Those facilities support CENTA research and technological services that includes technologies’ validation according to European Standards (i.e, EN 12566-3).
